Quilt Exhibition

Date:17th March 2014| Category:General
Gill’s quilt was displayed on the 15th & 16th March, 2014 at the Patchwork Collection Friendship Group Exhibition, Wallace's Garden, Coldstream, and was absolutely loved by all. It was in a prominent position, just as people entered the Exhibition.

The enthusiastic visitors would have a good look at Gill’s quilt then, once they had viewed the other quilts would again stop, taking another longer look enchanted by all the love, emotion and skills that have gone into this most extraordinary memory quilt. Some people were so touched they couldn’t read Gill’s book which included stories about some of the quilt blocks, however others read from front to back. Their looks said it all!

There are many people facing confronting challenges which are difficult to cope with, particularly the death of a family member or close friend. I hope Gill’s quilt inspires people to make their own memory piece, whether it be a quilt, an album, a painting or whatever reflects the connection between them and their lost treasure. I’m sure my treasure, Gill, would be deeply touched by all the wonderful warm vibes that would have been floating in the exhibition room over the weekend.

Harmony, George and I went to the quilt show at Chrissie Wallace’s yesterday and Gill’s quilt was well and truly the stand-out item, and at least while I was there it was getting lots of attention. I particularly enjoyed looking through the book, just like all other aspects of Gillian’s Rainbow Bridge you have made a lovely job of it. Congratulations. Kath
